  • First Post of 2010, Bethesda Working on “World of Warcraft type MMO”

So, I know it’s been almost 3 weeks with no word from me but trust me, there’s not a whole lot you missed. Yes, it’s 2010, and we have a little less than 2 years until our absolute destruction but in the meantime, did you know Bethesda missed it’s big reveal of the Elder Scrolls MMO in 2009? I know, I didn’t know either! According to VG247, “Development on the game has apparently been ongoing since late 2006, said the documents, with “tens of millions of dollars” invested and “close to a hundred people” working on it.” To add to that, there was another slip up from book publisher Waterstones saying the next Elder Scrolls game would take place 200 years after Oblivion.

    Whoops.

But we already know of Zenimax, Bethesda’s parent company, opening a MMO division headed by DAoC’s own Mike Firor who have been working an an unannounced title. Well this is it. Maybe.

And a belated, “Happy Holidays!” to you as well!

It’s true, the New Year is upon us and me still with no resolution to break. Yet. Though I could make it a resolution to post more active rants on this here blog, but I’d have to break it, so I won’t be making that a top commitment to break. In the meantime, I believe it only fair to warn my 5 readers I have decided to join up with a certain online radio station again, and I just might not see you all as much as I would like to. It’s a sad tale, I know, but we’ll get through it together. If you’re curious, as I know the entire internet usually is, it is a station that uses Guild Wars players as an audience and it plays many a genre of music ranging from Hip-Hop and Rap to Blues and Classic Rock. So, if you play Guild wars and like music, you might want to tune in over here and have a listen. For the record, you might want to listen to that one “Dj Mister Pink”, I heard he rocks pretty hard. :P

  • News Flash! AVATAR Makes A Lot of Money Opening Weekend! Guild Wars Mortgages My Soul

Posted on December 21st, 2009 Connor "The Lazy Geek" No comments

Thank you Captains Obvious and Duh. So, yes, AVATAR was released this past Friday and despite harsh winter conditions (at least here on the East Coast) people flocked to their local theater en masse. Over the weekend the film managed to rake in $232.2 Million, and for a movie that cost $300m that’s pretty damn good. Not record breaking, but pretty. Damn. Good.

  • Intel Experiments with New Process to Fire Employees

Posted on December 17th, 2009 Connor "The Lazy Geek" No comments

I’ve always said, if you’re going to fire your employees, do it in style. Intel seems to have taken this literally. Well literally in a fake sort of sense. There are employees being fired, but instead of from jobs and offices, from cannons. And it’s not as simple as that, but these are five people being fired from five cannons in order to recreate Intel’s famous tune. Here, just watch this video after the jump.

  • The Lazy Move is Finished

Posted on December 15th, 2009 Connor "The Lazy Geek" No comments

I’m back in the good ol’ more-safe-on-the-roads-than-Maryland Virginia and settled into this nifty apartment and now I can finally get back to doing what I do best. Procrastinating. But hey, at least I can get back to posting little snippets of opinions and news on the blog and websites are more likely to get finished, so it’s all good. In the meantime, James Cameron’s AVATAR comes out this Friday, and I’m kinda iffy but it’ll look spectacular, I’m sure. But if you know anything about me you’ll know I’m never sold on looks or action alone. This coming from a guy who played DOOM back when he was 4 years old on his father’s work machine at a whopping 0.5-1 FPS. Best days of my life.
